1. Vidu officially launched globally on July 30th
The Vidu video large model developed by Tsinghua University was globally launched on July 30th. This Chinese first long-duration, high consistency, high dynamic video generation model is praised by netizens as the "strongest domestic Sora". Vidu provides text-driven video and image-driven video functions, supporting 4-second and 8-second video generation at up to 1080P resolution. Its 4-second video generation speed only takes 30 seconds, breaking the speed record of similar products worldwide.
2. Meta introduces a brand new AI tool: "AI Studio"
Meta has launched a new tool called "AI Studio" for the U.S. market, aiming to empower creators to enhance interaction with fans through AI technology. This tool allows creators to create an AI version of themselves to automatically reply to fan posts on platforms like Instagram. Creators can train the AI reply content using their own posts and set specific fan speech ranges for AI replies, thereby improving interaction efficiency and personalization experience.
3. Canva acquires AI image tool "Leonardo.ai"
Design software giant Canva has announced the acquisition of the artificial intelligence image generation tool Leonardo.ai, but did not disclose specific terms of the deal. Canva's co-founder and Chief Product Officer Cameron Adams confirmed that the 120 team members of Leonardo.ai will join Canva. Earlier this year, Canva also acquired the UK design company Affinity for $380 million. Both companies are headquartered in Sydney, Australia, signaling Canva's further expansion in the design and AI fields.
4. OpenAI updates advanced language models
OpenAI has announced an exciting update: starting today, they will roll out a brand new advanced voice mode to selected ChatGPT subscription users. This innovative feature not only elevates the naturalness and real-time nature of conversations to new heights but also endows the system with unprecedented interactive capabilities – it can recognize and respond to users' emotional fluctuations, making every conversation more vivid and emotionally rich.
What's even more exciting is that the advanced voice mode has been specially designed with a user-friendly feature: users can interrupt the AI at any time during the conversation, just like in a natural conversation with friends or colleagues. This interruption does not disrupt the flow of the conversation; the AI will promptly and appropriately respond to the user's interjections.
OpenAI plans to expand this advanced voice mode to all ChatGPT subscription users this fall, allowing everyone to enjoy this more advanced and personalized communication experience. This is not only a demonstration of technological progress but also an important step in the field of artificial intelligence towards enhancing user experience. With the widespread adoption of this feature, we can anticipate that interactions between humans and AI will become more seamless and enjoyable.
5. "Domino Dreams" breaks forty million in revenue in 30 days
According to third-party data, the Israeli developer SuperPlay's domino gameplay "Domino Dreams" has generated over 40 million yuan in revenue in the past 30 days. This achievement stands out in the niche market of domino games. Despite the relatively small size of the domino game track, with the top games' monthly download totals being less than 10 million, "Domino Dreams" has overwhelmingly become the leader in this field, with its revenue being 20 times that of the second-place game.
In terms of revenue and user sources, the main profit market of the game is concentrated in Tier 1 markets, with the United States, Germany, the United Kingdom, France, and Japan being the top five revenue-contributing countries. At the same time, the download volume is primarily concentrated in Europe and the United States, with the top five countries by installation volume being the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, and Italy. This indicates that "Domino Dreams" has a very high level of popularity and market potential in these countries.
6. "Manage Supermarket Simulator" tops the June download growth chart
According to the latest June download growth data released by Sensor Tower, the simulation management game "Manage Supermarket Simulator" launched by Zego Studio has performed excellently. Not only did it rise to second place in global downloads in just one month, but it also won the championship in download growth.
Since its global release in May 2024, the total number of downloads for this game has exceeded 28.6 million, with particularly outstanding download numbers in regions such as Indonesia, Brazil, India, Mexico, and Vietnam. "Manage Supermarket Simulator" has garnered widespread popularity among global casual gamers due to its immersive first-person perspective experience and detailed 3D visual effects.
7. "DNF" and "Three Kingdoms: Strategy to Rule the World" rank top two in global mobile game revenue growth in June
Both games performed exceptionally well in the global mobile gaming market in June, achieving significant results in both downloads and revenue.
Firstly, "Dungeon & Fighter Mobile," the action fighting mobile game, known as "Dungeon & Fighter: Origin" in the Chinese market and published by Tencent, quickly gained popularity after entering the Chinese market in May. The game cleverly combines fantasy elements, martial arts action, and fast-paced combat, making it very popular among Chinese players. In June, it became the highest-grossing mobile game with revenue of nearly $251 million and also ranked first on both the global best-selling and growth charts.
Next is "Three Kingdoms: Rule the World" released by Bilibili. This 4X strategy mobile game landed in the Chinese market in June and swiftly attracted a large number of players with its dynamic strategic gameplay, faithful historical representation, easy game experience, and affordable price. The game has reached over 1.2 million downloads on the iOS platform, with total revenue exceeding $41.9 million, ranking second on the global mobile game revenue growth chart.
8. "DNF" surpasses "MONOPOLY GO!" and secures the top spot in global mobile game revenue in June
Since November 2023, "MONOPOLY GO!", which consistently held the top spot on the global mobile game best-seller chart, was surpassed by "Dungeon & Fighter: Origin" (represented by Tencent) in June of this year. This game achieved significant results within just a month due to its unique game appeal and strategic mobile app marketing approach.
At the same time, the 4X strategy game "Whiteout Survival," published by Dot Dot Interactive, has also shown strong performance since its launch in China in May 2024. With its intense survival challenges and strategic gameplay, it quickly captured the attention of global players. By June, it had climbed to the 9th position on the global mobile game revenue chart, with a total of 52.5 million downloads worldwide and revenue reaching a remarkable $935 million.
